Performantica Publishing House was founded in 1995, under INVESTICS NATIONAL INSTITUTE of Iasi.
The main objective of the publishing house is, from the beginning, stimulate and promote Romanian creative performance. Reference areas in which publishing house has focused his activity are: the scientific and technical creation, human-social domain, literary and artistic.
The fact that Performance publishing house is  under INVESTICS NATIONAL INSTITUTE of Iasi is not accidental. In this institute has been grouped since 1992 a strong core of research and in that period was reorganized the Romanian school of Invention initiated by the founding director of institute Prof. Dr. Ing. VITALIE BELOUSOV.
Create an outlet for publish research work, developed at the Institute, was a natural necessity, fact who determine the management  to  establishment two editorial components of the institute:

• JOURNAL of Inventions, initiated in 1990, with the chief editor Prof. Boris Plahteanu;
• PERFORMANTICA PUBLISHER, established in 1995, with the editor Prof. Dr. Traian D. Stănciulescu and general secretary of the editorial team Octav Păunet;

From this moment, the editorial activity of the institute has developed permanent and the publisher is in continuous transformation moved from small number of titles, who use of the results of scientific research and technical creation of the National Institute of Inventics members, into a publisher who print works in all domain, representing local and foreign author.
The general direction is to follow several goals for specific publisher:

- Promoting inter-and trans-disciplinary work;
- Support for scientific work with a high degree of originality, theoretical and practical (inventions, patents etc.).
- Promotion of debut works (such as doctoral work), especially young authors;
- Development of flexible circulation of books, with good financial conditions, depending on market needs and requests of the authors.
